Antique Pair of Classical Bronze Warrior Figures on Marble-Inlaid Bases – European Neoclassical

800 $

Impressive matching pair of antique European Neoclassical warrior figures in dark patinated bronze/bronzed metal, mounted on black architectural bases with decorative marble inlays. Probably late 19th to early 20th century.

A striking matching pair of classical warrior sculptures, comprising a helmeted male warrior and a female warrior carrying a shield.

The figures have a dark aged patina and are mounted on substantial black architectural plinths decorated with contrasting marble/stone inlays. The modelling includes detailed classical armour, drapery, helmets, footwear and accessories.

The design is strongly influenced by European Neoclassical and Grand Tour decorative art, probably dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.

The pair displays visible age-related patination, rubbing and surface wear consistent with an older decorative object. Based on the photographs, the figures appear to be bronze or a bronzed metal alloy. No visible maker’s signature has yet been identified.

An impressive decorative pair particularly suitable for a classical interior, library, office or antique collection.

Condition: Good antique/vintage condition with visible age-related patina and surface wear. Please refer to photographs.

Period: Approx. late 19th / early 20th century
